mistake on my credit file - what to do?

My credit rating is horrible anyway, and this won't make it very much better but... My credit report has me marked down as having 'links' with an address that I have never been to and states that I use an alias, which I don't. What should I do?

Check your file on experian and on equifax to see if it is on both, then contact them.
They will amend it, but just to warn you, equifax were rubbish at doing this and we had to complain to the ombudsman. We had to chase both companies a little bit.
It could be that someone has tried to get credit using your details, to a different address (this happened to me - luckily(!?) my credit was terrible so they didn't get very far but it did link the address)
