Desperately Need advice- day 8 stimming scan!

I'm in a bit of a tizzy and wanted to get some advice. I am 38 and this is my first IVF cycle, AMH is 17.

I am currently day 8 of stims on a long protocol. I have been on Merional 225mg daily (double dose on day 1 and 2) and I had my day 8 scan today (this is the first scan I've had since starting stims). The doctor struggled to find my ovaries and then could only see 1x 10mm follicle on right ovary and several small and some small follicles on left ovary. My oestrogen level was 900.

The clinic have told me to remain on my current dose and to come back on day 11 for a further scan and bloods.

Basically I'm panicking that I am not responding and I wondered is there any chance that I will start to develop more follicles? Also it seems unusual that my dose hasn't been changed?

I ended up having 12 days of stims as my follicles were very slow to respond and that was on 450mg of meds! I am a little surprised that they did not increase your dosage, I had a first scan at day two and the Dr then upped me from 350 to 450 as nothing was happening. Did you ask why they haven't increased?

Don't panic though, mine did their act together in the last few days and I ended up with 8 eggs (I was 40 at the time and had a lower AMH than you have).

Thanks Sparrow. I did ask why the dose wasn't in reed and they didn't really say. I have called clinic again and asked them to review my case. Hopefully I'm just a bit slow to kick in afte the suppression! Fingers and toes crossed!
