Can I ask how you felt after egg collection please? I had mine this morning and feel like my womb and back passage are quite tender /bloated.it's quite uncomfortable, though not terribly painful. I had thought i would feel normal within a few hours.

I think it is pretty individual and most people feel quite sore and surely bloated from what I have read. I personally felt OK immediately after waking up but gradually felt worse over the course of that evening. Bloating lasted for a few days then stopped just before the ET.

I think it is normal to feel pain, bloating and general discomfort. If the pain and bloating increase you should call your clinic. There is a risk of developing OHSS after EC.

Also, my clinic advised me to take paracetamol if necessary but not ibuprofen (because of the kidneys).

Hope that helps!

Good luck with the ET.

I had bloating/constipation for 3-4 days after egg collection in the 2 cycles that I had. It was uncomfortable but passed before 5day ET.

Good luck xx

Hi there, I felt v similar after egg collection - v tender, bloated and VERY painful to go to empty bowels (sorry tmi - Id recommend mild laxative if you have problems as they'll prob have given you an antibiotic which may bung you up)

Do make sure you allow enough time to recover - I know it's not nice to think about but when you think about the actual physical process of egg collection its airs le any of us can walk afterwards! Flowers for a speedy recovery x

Bloody autocorrect! That should read 'it's amazing any of us can walk afterwards'

Thanks. I feel reassured now I know it's not just me. Menopur bunged me up beautifully, so I'm already on the lactulose. I was hoping the terribly glamorous pessaries would sort that problem out!
I'll keep in mind the OHSS, only collected 6 eggs as I'm an old bint- so hoping I'll be OK.

I realise that a lot can go wrong between now and transfer, but the embryologist just called- all 6 of my eggs fertilised. It's just one more hurdle that's passed. Fingers crossed we get a good quality egg on Saturday. Just one. That's all I want.

So 5 eggs looking good this morning. 1 at 3 cell stage, 4 at 4 cell stage. 5 day blastocyst transfer it is! Now I worry none will make it to Saturday. Puts you through the mill ivf!

That's really promising! But you're right, each step is v. nerve wracking. Is this your first IVF cycle?

My first cycle I had no blastos out of 5 fertilised embryos (15 eggs collected, 7 mature enough for ICSI) - but that's really rare!! The embryologists had never had it happen before. Second cycle 24 eggs collected(!), 6 fertilised, 2 blastos, both transferred, resulted in one pregnancy. It only takes one! (We had male factor infertility, but am concerned about the quantity vs quality of my eggs given the numbers.)

Look after yourself, chances are there's at least one little fighter in there for blasto transfer

Wow! You has so many more eggs collected than me. Awful about your first cycle, must have been totally devastating. And congratulations on your pregnancy. That's all that matters at the end of the day.

We have unexplained infertility. And we just want one successful blastocyst. Just one Smile

Egg transfer this morning. 1 beautiful looking embryo transferred, one possibly 2 to freeze. We're very happy with how the cycle has gone so far.

Laura I was so nervous too, but after 2 or 3 days the Injections became easy. If you need any handholding just post on this board, the ladies have been so sweet to me.

So glad I joined this group as I am worrying about OHSS after EC yesterday. I don't remember a thing about the procedure, the drugs knocked me out but I woke up on oxygen and a drip after my blood pressure dropped. I haven't been feeling too bad to be honest, just bloated from my breasts all the way down. I am drinking plenty, eating ok and took some lactulose to help me go which has now resulted in diarrhoea, vomiting and excruciating pain low down. My stomach is rock solid and I look pregnant (the irony...) when do I call the clinic? I am scheduled for ET in four days and don't want to mess things up....
