Bleeding after embryo transfer

A close family member has recently completed her first IVF cycle. Previous healthy pregnancies, no medical reason why she's struggled to concieve this time.

Embryos were transferred on Weds 18th. She started bleeding with some pain on Tues 24th. She is waiting until Weds (TWW) to test as advised by the clinic.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I would appreciate hearing other people's experiences. TIA.

Was it a 3dt or 5dt? The 2ww starts from date of egg collection, not embryo transfer.

If the 24th was 14 days (or thereabouts) from date of egg collection, then might well be start of AF.

Has she POAS? First response gave me a BFP 9 days after egg collection, so she would probably get her answer one way or the other by now if she wants to test.

You think a test now would be accurate? I was worried about her getting a false positive?

I had ovitrelle as my trigger, and the clinic advised me it would have completely left my system within 5 days of use. Not sure what the situation is with others though.

What was the date of her egg collection?

...and is she still bleeding? Light spotting at 7 or so days post egg collection might well be implantation, full flow at 11-14 days likely to be AF

My time line:
I had egg collection on the 11th. Implantation on the 13th.
Started bleeding on the 23rd.
Test due on the 27th.
And I wasn't pregnant.

However, positivite thinking... I was under incredible stress as my DH was admitted to hospital on the 22nd and had an emergency op. It was also over Christmas.

Fingers crossed it is implantation. I was told to still do a test even if I bled, so waiting until Wednesday would be ideal.

It is not possible for embryos to implant 2 days after egg collection.

They need to develop to hatching blastocyst stage before implantation can occur, which can only happen 5 days or so after egg collection.

Oh, do you mean you had embryo transfer on the 13th?

Sorry, I got confused there, implantation is a different thing to embryo transfer!

Sorry it was embryo transfer at 2 days not implantation. I did question it at the time.
