ovulatory PCOS and digital ovulation tests

We're trying to conceive naturally after a failed FET cycle. We have one child from IVF.

I have PCO (ovaries are v polycystic on scans) but blood tests done 3.5 years ago when we were trying to conceive #1 showed as normal and that I was ovulating most if not all months, so apparently I don't have the syndrome.

I've not had any more recent day 21 / day 3 tests but am hoping to try to track ovulation with the clearblue digital tests. The two line cheapies are too difficult to decipher. Am I wasting my time though? Will they work? Should I ask GP for day 21 and 3 tests to be repeated?

Any blood tests done over 6 months ago should be discounted. You need up to date blood test results and these tests should be repeated monthly. GP may not have the time to do this so specialist advice and monitoring should be sought.

There is a very fine line between polycystic ovaries and the syndrome (which is basically the cystic follicles on the ovaries with another symptom). PCO can be a problem in its own right.

I would have blood tests done rather than use OPKs anyway as they can give misleading results if ovaries are polycystic. Such kits read LH; if there is an excess of LH the kit basically reads that and gives you the user a false result. You could also end up with multiple positive results.

if it was me, id get ya bloods repeated to give you peace of mind and upto date info....................and give the tests a go if you like, i have pcos and have NEVER had any trouble with the clearblue dual tests. (verified with blood tests so i knew they were right) (i cant use the cheapy 2line thingys either, cant work em out)
