Infertility

Salisbury or Southampton?

I'm being referred for fertility treatment and I've been given two choices - Southampton (Princess Anne) or Salisbury Hospital. I see that Salisbury has slightly higher success rates so I will probably go with this option but does anyone have any experience with them? It's further for me to travel but I'm more than happy to make the trek if they are good.

Thanks.

Hi, I had both my daughters in Princess Anne and I actually can't fault them at all, either in ante- or post- natal care.

My younger daughter has had a lot of medical care over at Salisbury and whilst it's an excellent hospital - it's absolutely enormous and has a very different feel to Soton.

Also, I write a blog for an IVF clinic and I have literally just finished an article on the best way to prepare for IVF and from research it seems that success is largely based on the individual themselves :) So don't worry too much :)

Thank you for your reply. I've been looking more into it today and am swaying towards Princess Anne now! I'm very new to all this and have no idea what's coming next! Could I have a link to your blog, if possible? I haven't told anyone that we are having to have treatment, so I feel very isolated.

We had ivf at Salisbury 8 years ago....which resulted in dd then a fet there a few years later which failed. They were brilliant with us. Very kind an caring and realistic! If we could afford to try again we would go back there without hesitating. We also gave birth in Salisbury and have had various other medical appointments there fir me, dh and dd and have always been very happy with them.
