dangerous idiot. Just hope he doesn?t use money and position to wriggle out of it.

Clearly a buffoon, but it's bit misleading to say he was driving a 195mph car as it could imply that that was the speed he was driving at - and there's no evidence of that. The car may be capable of 195mph.

zippitippitoes · 05/08/2006 13:34

I agree the 195mph car bit was clearly put in for added dramatic effect..i don't think it was needed actually..that's why I left it out

I mainly posted it because I'm a nosy old bat for things like this

and he is a culpable person in my eyes

ffs
Im absolutely not a Boris Johnson fan (met him at uni) but he is the children's father, do you honestly think he doesnt care about his sons safety?

My children have travelled 2 in the front seat with a single adult seat belt, they are still alive, like the small Johnsons. Its actually safer with 2, becuase they fill out the seatbelt more. get off your soapboxes and start worrying about famine and war instead. The UK political system that Boris Johnson supports is a far bigger scandal than him putting his 2 sons in the front seat.

you are wrong "Is it safe for two people to share one seat belt?

No. Every person in a vehicle should have his or her own seat belt. In the event of a motor vehicle crash, sharing a seat belt can cause extreme injury and even death as the two sharing the seat belt crash into each other."

concerns for raod safety need not be at the expense of political opinion on famine and war..

they say 'boris - i love you' twice

Stupid, irresponsible thing to do. You don't put your much loved children in a such a dangerous position IMO. Not necessary and totally unavoidable.

I know there may be even more dangerous things that happen, but why take the risk.

It takes a second for an accident to occur and a child to be killed, but even a lifetime can't put the damage back together again afterwards.

zippi
its legal for a child of 3 or upwards to sit in the front seat with an adult seat belt. Safer with 2, cos they cant wriggle around so much.

he's not keen on being told what to do "Our footballers blub when they lose a match. The nanny state won't let us take our T-shirts off in public lest we get sunburn, and from November all children under the age of 11 will have to be equipped with an expensive plastic booster seat banquette before you can take them in the back of the car. " even if it is to protect childreen who can't choose for themselves

it's not safe at all..it's dangerous..in an accident the seat belt is not protecting them and they are a danger to each other

It is NOT safer to have two children in one seat belt. In the event of a crash they will hit each other, possibly one crushing the other to death as their joint weight impacts against the dashboard. It is never recommended in any of the Government or car manufacturers pages that two people, regardless of age, share a seat belt - instead it is the opposite - they should never share a seatbelt.

This comment of hi:

"expensive plastic booster seat banquette before you can take them in the back of the car"

Says it all really doesn't it? You can pick up a booster seat for about £20 probably less, yet he things we should just leave our children unsafe instead. Hmmm.

anything to do with driving and children is the signal for common sense to fly out of the window.
