"Gun" wielding Halifax Bank advert

There's a v odd advert in the Observer opposite the reports of the Kenyan Mall terrorist attack. The advert for Halifax Bank shows a woman holding a large power drill and wearing ear muffs. On first sight it looks like she's holding a gun ! Then you realise it's a power drill. What's the link between power drills and the Halifax Bank ?

The TV advert shows the woman as an employee at a DIY store and the theme is... (paraphrase).. you work hard, you do your best, you deserve a bank account that helps you out.
