can't imagine how the poor parents feel and how the boys are going to feel when their brother start feeling really poorly, knowing that this is also their future :( :( :(

Saw this yesterday. Very sad. Hope the 'Lorenzo's oil' treatment can be used to help them. From what I remember of the film - (not that it is one I would watch today!), it did have an amazing effect on some children. I suppose the film was Hollywood though - maybe real life isn't that miraculous.

I saw that film .. it made it seem as though the oil was a miraculous treatment to prevent any progression of the disease for all children

I did read somewhere that there was some hope with a bone marrow transplant but I think they have to catch it before any symptoms develop (so maybe this could help the other 2 brothers)

It seems as though the oil is still some way from being approved as a standard treatment.

I assume that the thread title (boy boys) is a typo, but I think thats what comes through in the Lorenzo story and the British brothers story - they all seem just typical"boy boys".
