Imagine having a teacher with two heads. One head can watch the kids and answer questions while the other listens to a child read.

Seriously I have to admire the determination of Abby and Brittany Hensel to overcome their disablity and lead a normal life.

I watched this with DS, he has studied them as an example of conjoined twins in Biology, he's fascinated by them (and thinks Brittany is rather cute Grin)
I thought it was a great programme, the only thing I couldn't get is how do they co ordinate themselves if each twin controls their own side of the body? The determination they have makes my head spin..

I've seen a documentary on them before, from when they were sixteen. I was really pleased to see they are still doing well and have been to college. Their parents are fantastic - and so are they!

From the doc I saw before, no one is exactly sure how they manage to co ordinate themselves, but obviously they have a lifetime of practice. Their parents have resisted over-medicalising their condition beyond what's necessary for their health - I think they felt that having lots of research done on how they co ordinate and to what extent they can feel or control the same body parts would be overly invasive.

I've heard of them and seen them on a few programmes but didn't realise they'd qualified as teachers Smile.

They are amazing women. I love reading about them and hearing how they are doing.

It amazes me how they can drive, they had to each do a driving test Grin

Wow, amazing women.

What I want to know if they get stopped for speeding who gets the points on their licence?

Beaver- they would probably get off with a stern warning to save on having to figure that out! Grin

True. Grin

Or maybe the one who controls the right side would get the ticket as she must do the accelerating.

I watched the programme the other night and was in awe. What wonderful women they are, and their family too for giving them the strength to be so independent and indomitable

They were riding a bike!!! One leg each! Amazing
