Cleaning vomit off Ugg boots (v. important) and carpet (still important, but not as) - how?

DS has vomited all over the carpet, but more importantly and more inconsiderately all over my Ugg boots.....

Any ideas how to clean either of these? I have used blue dettol, fairy liquid on the carpet, but it stinks!!!

Ugg boots, I have not touched yet....

I'd be tempted to pop them in the machine on a delicate cycle maybe with a towel or something to keep them company and stop them banging around in the machine too much.

I used baby powder left it on the stains overnight and then brushed the powder off with a suede brush and the stains came out.

Some dry cleaners do UGGs.

For carpet, here is advice from a Facebook group (from a carpet cleaner):

Dear group members!!

As you may or may not know .. I clean carpets .... But I'm increasingly finding that customers are attempting to clean them using vanish/oxyclean/etc . This is a BIG BIG mistake . It looks great in the short term but over time the product is bleaching your carpets. Also people are rubbing vanish into the carpet! This creates a " back combing " effect to the pile of the carpet which is irreversible/permanent! You could also be making the stain set.( permanent)

I would like to offer a few simple tips/steps to help. You will need several tea towels/cloths ,a bucket and washing detergent ( daz/persil/etc)

1. Take your cloth . Place on the spillage blot/tread/ or apply pressure. Repeat this step until most of the" accident" is absorbed in to your cloth. Use as many cloths as needed.
   

1. Take a clean cloth drop into the bucket with warm water and a touch of washing detergent ( less is more)
   

. Apply to affected area .. Tread/blot this in to the carpet. Repeat if necessary .

1. Now we need to remove the detergent from the carpet . Clean warm water and a clean cloth . Blot/tread clean water in to the area. Continue to do this until detergent /stain has been removed .
   

4 . Excessive soiling .. Repeat steps 2 and 3 .

1. NO RUBBING or SCRUBBING . This is important .. You are only pushing the stain/spillage deeper into the carpet .
   

If after a few weeks you notice that the area is getting dirty quickly . Then you haven't removed the detergent well enough and the detergent is continuing to do its job and attract the dirt to the area.

Bicarbonate of soda sprinkled on the area after it has dried out gets out the smell too!

The only thing that worked on our carpet was sprinkling clothes washing powder on it, then a rub with a wet cloth. Then vacuum up any excess powder.

Not sure about the ugg boot. What about a wool friendly cleaner like woolite and a steam cleaner to kill any germs?

Don't put them in the washing machine. I imagine they would felt inside as merino is the best wool for felting. Felt is made by wool + warm water + soap!

I would try a nail brush and a little warm water. On outside. Good luck. I would Vax carpet unless wool.
