Morning all

We all seem a little under the weather - so I challenge you all to find some "me" time today, even if it is just reading once the children are in bed

Morning TMH & Dylsmum

need to get some stuff done today as DH put the christmas tree up last night whilst I was out.
Dining room looks like a bomb has gone off!
need to clear some ironing that has been building the last few days as I need to move the toy boy to the place where the ironing mountain is. (because DH moved it to put up the tree.)

Very cold here - trying not to turn the heating on until Lunchtime but want it to be warm when DS1 gets home from school as he has a stinker of a throat and cough.

Think I might switch the phone off - had too many distressing calls from my family today - does turning off the phone count as "me time" that you suggested TMH?

later ladies

oh and might make some mince pies

Morning

I am FREEZING! I'm shivering almost too much to type!

Fire went out last night so it was cold when we all got up this morning. I might attempt to re-light it but I'm a bit hopeless without fire lighters (which we have run out of)

dyls ooooh you might be lucky and get them before christmas....if your friends little boy has them now then your DC might also be due to spot! Yours might already be in the incubation period. Or with a bit of luck they'll miss it!

I'm betting mine are ill....they ALWAYS are...every year!

Right its no good I'm now shaking and yawning waaaay too much...must go heat this house!!

Well I've got it right today, Ds is at school, DD is at nursery and Im home sat in front of This Morning with a coffee and a mince pie . Any minute now I'm going to win £10,000 with Pete and Jordan .

Take it easy girls.

luda i hope either of your suggested times for the spots are right, i don't mind as long as its not over christmas.
ds has had it when he was 5 but soo mild (about 20 spots in total) that i worry he'll get it again but worse this time. and dd doesnt do mild illness if she gonna get something she always seems to be worse than everyone else and have it 3 times as long!
so am hoping they'll pass us by this time round.

i'm very shocked with myself- i have finished my list for today already

luda at your real fire (though not if its gone out) we can't light ours this year as have taken out the fireplace and not yet put a new one in .

dyl well done.

LOL i hadnt even read that as bailey has a toy boy scatty- now that is much more interesting than how i read that sentance an think behind the ironing mountain is a great place to hide a toy boy - well if your mountains are as big as mine!!

well done dylsmum. Today I have long list of things to do, whilst waiting in for Argos delivery.

DONE:
Taken car for its MOT to a distant garage and returned.
Had a long talk with sister about our six kids, all boys (except for my dd) geeks versus sportsmen/women...
Teaparty food for sat bought yesterday.

TO DO
Beds
wash sheets
ironing that pile I threw into the junk room to hide it from guests
bathrooms basins baths loos
wash soaking saucepans
hoover playroom and stairs
sweep kitchen and living room
shake out rugs
PUT 10 TOYS IN SHED FOR NOW
Give rest of duplo to reception class
write and stamp 3 xmas cards

As a reward: make scones with sour milk for Sat teaparty
Take down xmas box from attic

What's for dinner. Casserole and rice. Pancakes with stewed apple.

This house is perpetually draughty and freezing. I am wearing two jumpers. But I think the cold air is keeping the dcs quite germfree. Difficult to leave the kitchen. I need a stove in living room as fireplace seems to create too much ash and smokes out dd in room above. Dh is refusing to light it. Will think about this in New Year.

Hi all
DD made the nativity !

She was fab (if I say so myself) and did all the actions for when Santa got stuck up the chimney as well as holding baby jesus

I can see a great carreer in showbusiness ahead of her

Back home and dh is watching the sodding cricket

Am going to make bacon sandwiches and read the paper

i should have put the christmas decs up months ago- think thats what spurring me on- i have done the ironing, mended a pair of ds's school trousers, the hems keep coming down on them this year, driving me potty i think there is only one trouser leg that hasnt come down out of all 3 pairs of trousers.
