Condensation driving me mad!

Every morning all the windows in the house are streaming. Each morning I go around and wipe the windows with a towel (used 4 hand towel sized ones this morning and all of them were dripping and soaked through afterwards) and open the windows. Windows are open for at least an hour, more often 3 or 4 hours. Bathroom window is always opened striaght after a bath/shower.

We don't dry wet clothes indoors, though sometimes things which are still slightly damp after being on the line get finished off on a radiator airer.

I'm sick of having to go through the whole rigamarole every morning, I'm sick of freezing all day because the windows are open and I'm sick of cleaning mould off window frames!

Are condensers expensive to run? Do those window sill container things work at all?

I feel your pain claireybee and would like to know this too! We have recently moved into a house with this problem and have no experience of it before - there is condensation on the walls FGS!! also we both work so can't leave the windows open during the day..

You need dehumidifier, solved the problem for us and now can't imagine being without it!!!
Btw,opening windows wont help for longer than an hour because as soon as you close them humidity in air starts rising and you're back to where you started...
Is your property newish/double glazed/no cracks...If so,good for keeping the heat in,but also the humidity... HTH

Thanks.
What size is your dehumidifier and is it expensive to run? Also do you have to have it on all the time or just for a short while each day?

I recently bought 10 of the windowsill dehumidifiers and so far it hasn't made any difference!!

I had really bad condensation in my previous flat and i bought one from argos, cheapest they had and it did the trick. I used to leave all the internal doors open and leave it on in the hall while I was out, worked a treat. I now use it in my conservatory to speed up clothes drying time.

If you have a house bigger than a 1 bed flat you will prob need 1 on each floor.
