to scrub the floor boards with to make them stay fresh and clean?

am assuming in a bathroom, 'liquid' will get stuck under the flooring through edges etc and every now and again can smeel something 'unpleasant' shall we say, thought it was toilet not flushing properly / backing up, but its not 'dirt' smell, more 'liquid' trying to keep away from TMI...anyway, will buy some new tomorrow, rip this up and want to prep/clean florboards prior to new stuff being laid...i was thinking strong bleach and scrubbing and then when dry sprinkle bicarb?..would that 'do'??

Suggest you seal the vinyl to the skirting boards & round the loo etc with bathroom sealant so that none gets through

I would bleach it - then make sure it is really dry before you put the new stuff down

Try scrubbing floorboards with sugar soap ---works wonders!

Maybe you should seal the wood with varnish/wax/something else?

Maybe but it won't rot the floorboards then - it might damage the vinyl tho'

If you varnish the boards & seal the gaps (esp round the loo) I think you will minimise the risk of smells etc

yeah its sealed already, think its just about time TBH..if not that then will have to look at loo!
