i do! although depends on what they are, i remember years ago watching nike air max and the air in them expanded and i ended up with platform trainers!

I washed DDs leather trainers in the wash recently and they came up OK.

I just dried them slowly near a radiator whilst stuffed with newspaper to keep their shape.

Admitedly I took a risk but they smelled so bad (she left them festering at school for a week, soaking wet, muddy etc) and they weren't very expensive so it wouldn't have been the end of the world if Id ruined them.

Doesn't the washing machine get ruined? (I'm feeling more precious about the washing machine rather than the trainers !)

I put dc2s trainers in the washing machine along with his disgusting walkhomeonitsown PE kit. I dry the trainers in the airing cupboard for day or two and they come up like new.

If I remember, I run the hotest wash after with just washing liquid in it.

Never thought about the machine TBH

One thing I remember hearing is not to put the laces in loose as they can go through the holes in the drum and cause chaos.

Maybe put the trainers in a washing net/pillowcase and in the machine with something to bulk it out -that way they won't clunk around too much when the drum turns and spins?

Don't worry Franca, I was like that with mine but now 18months (?) on it gets mistreated frequently especially as DP still hasn't learned to check his pockets properly.

I found a 4" nail in the machine last week -now that could have done some serious damage

I stick trainers into an old pillowcase cover and then put them in the washing machine

I've washed kids trainers in machine before and they;re fine, however i wash them one at a time to minimize potential w/mach damage. If you've got 'good' trainers with support
I wldnt risk it as i think it may affect their performance. I run and have £80 trainers (yes I know you an get much more expensive ones, but to me thats a fortune!). they stink, inside and out but i wouldnt dream of washing them as I dont think they'll still support me properly

gosh running shoes are really expensive . No, it is just "normal" trainers I want to wash, but haven't got round doing it today...

i wash DS' trainers all the time, in with the normal wash dry them on the radiator or hot press and they come up like new. never had any problems.
