Is use the 5 in 1 dishwasher tabs, do you need to add salt and rinse aid separately too??

Or is it better to buy cheapo tabs and add the salt and rinse aid directly??

Depends if you live in a hard or soft water area as you need more salt (and presumably rinse aid) in a hard water area. Our water is very hard so I tend not to buy the 5 in 1 tabs and keep topping up the salt and rinse aid instead.

we're in a very hard water area too. I presume your system seems to work just as well and is much cheaper ??

I find the tablets very expensive (even the "value" ones) particularly as we only have a 8 place setting dishwasher (standard size is 12 place.)

I buy the 5 in one powder from Asda (have never seen it anywhere else) We live in a hard water area but it is fine. The only niggle is that the lights on our dishwasher to say that there is no rinse aid and sale in it are permanently on.

The powder is about £1.93 and lasts for absolutely ages.
