Tips for notice board needed!

Hi - I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place but I wasn't quite sure where to put this. My dh is on a mission to organise our lives as we have a lot to do at home to prepare for arrival of dc2 in Jan. To that end, he wants to get a noticeboard which is part dry-wipe or blackboard for writing notes/lists and part cork or magnet board for sticking things to. I don't like the ones he has found so far as they are very functional and look like something you'd find in an office. I'd like something a little more aesthetically pleasing (and to fit in with blue colour scheme if poss). Are any of you keen shoppers aware of anything?

Hello - point taken , actually I don't care if you're a keen shopper or not, I need help before dh loses patience and buys the first thing he sees....

i just got one from tescos. Silver, half magnetic that you can write on (pen with it) and half that you can pin on. it's not very big though, around 50 x 30 cm.

I gave up looking for a nice one, and made my own. I used sheets of MDF, painted with magnetic paint and then a coat of the kitchen paint so they matched the wall colour exactly.

I bought cheap clipboards and used the clippy bits from the top and attached them to the top of the notice board. These hold calendars really flat to the board so they don't flap around as you walk past them.
