How do you clean an extractor fan?

I did mine last week. It was vile. You should be able to remove the filters and put them in hot soapy water, then scrub with a washing up brush until they seem as clean as you can get them.

Then, put them in rack to dry. Watch in horror as more grease slides out of the edges.

Repeat until you get fed up of the whole process.

Just braved it-unscrewed the front panel but couldn't get the whirlygig bits out so just sprayed with degreaser and wiped round as best I could. At least the front is clean now!
