Worried - what if I dont like what the insurance company offer me

due to paint spillage insurance have offered to pay out for new carpet, settee etc...

Ive never may a claim before and they are sending 2 companies out to let me look at samples books/swatches. These are my problems:

1. Settees (2 x large 2 seaters) both matching. They are a few years old but what if I dont like what the company are offering me. I'd prefer something out of Next or other hight street shop etc.. but they dont deal with them. Only one has paint on it but whatever we decided we still have to stump up for another settee to match the other

1. Carpet - after several disasters with flithy carpet, I'd prefer wooden flooring. Could I ask the carpet company to quote me on having flooring and we pay the additional balance after the value of the carpet is deducted?

I think it really depends on the wording of your insurance policy - with some you are entitled to the value of the damaged stuff, with others you have to replace through their suppliers. So, it depends!
