For soft / small toys that don't require sorting how about Habitat laundry baskets - they are a wire spiral covered in mesh fabric (red, black etc) and quite cheap. If you need to be tiday / sort things into categories I'd say use opaque boxes you can stack (or old icecream tubs) and label them.

IKEA trofast storage - fab fab fab! Have actually got it in the living room atm and DS loves rooting around the trays to find his toys!

Trofast again!! I love it, we have all sizes of the tubs so we have paper, felt tips, etc in the small trays and soft toys, cars, trucks etc in the large blue ones.

I have labelled mine and I do try to return everything to its home! That way when ds1 asks for his cat mask I know exactly where it is.

My ikea is 3 mile away!!!

It used to be a big adventure but when you have an Ikea on your doorstep it takes away some of the giddiness.

It also means you can walk away from stuff, think about it and go back the next day to get it.

I am truly an Ikea girl

Trofast, trofast, trofast all the way! Another one who lives 3 miles from Ikea - it's a friday night out (v.sad boring emoticon!) for us!

I live a 20 mins WALK from an IKEA....

Seriously though, they really do think about their storage - the Trofast is ideal for DS but still looks good in the living room!

Hijack!!!!

For all you Trofast users, which systems have you got? Or do you just go for whichever looks best in your room?

I have huge storage problems (my excuse for being sooooo untidy) and now need to do something about it!!!

depeds on what you have to put in it

pens, paper etc go well in shallow trays
bigger stuff like lego needs deeper ones
huge things like stuffed animals or plastic dinosaurs need the deep buckety type
