Scissors

Every pair of scissors I buy to use in the kitchen end up rusty. I am sure it is because I wash them in the dishwasher.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of the rust (lemon juice somewhere in my head)?

Do I have to hand wash and dry scissors in future? I am not always around to remove from dishwasher as soon as it is finished to dry them.

Cut pieces of wet and dry or any kind of sandpaper with the scissors.
Spray now and again with WD40.
