helewele · 07/02/2008 19:50

my dd has just covered her new trousers in vaseline! (and ate the rest :D) how can I save them??

they are 92% cotton, 8% elastane, and can be washed at 40 degrees.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Fairy liquid, soak them in soapy water with fairy liquid as it dissolves the oil. It worked on my skirt. Good Luck.

Thank you!! I have also now found it all over my mobile, and painted on my tv!! Only left her alone to go to the loo, I wasn't even away 2 minutes, and she polished off a brand new tin!!

Going to try the fairy liquid now before it gets to ingrained!!

Wet wipes should clean up the tv, but you will need a lot.

Oh, I had to deal with this recently on a fake sheepskin coat - I put some washing up liquid on it overnight, put washing detergent on it before it went in the wash and then washed it at 40. It came out looking new. And it wasn't machine washable!

Just found my pink tinted lip balm all over my dd's cream/beige coloured woven carpet - will washing up liquid be able to remove this without staining??

Any other removal suggestions??

I have used Vanish for felt tip on carpets and it usually gets other stains out.

What are our DCs up to at the moment? DS drew on our dining room wall, the carpet and the door.

His wall drawing was actually quite good. AIBU for taking a photo and putting it on my profile?

I get unhelpful comments from my folks like 'you didn't do this when you were that age'...

nothing like taking a photo ... just collecing the evidence ...

I found a solution of sugar soap the best way to get our dd's scrawlings off her bedroom wall ... we also have a whole section of chalk drawings elsewhere on her carpet... but that is another thing altogether..

FGS, that was just tempting fate, posting on this thread. DS just spilt chocolate yogurt right down his best rugby shirt.
