One of the three or four long, thin, plastic paddle-type whatsists inside the drum has broken off. Does it matter? Do I need to get it fixed?

this happened to my hotpoint and it is called a drum paddle. it does matter cos the clothes get caught in the holes where the paddle goes and they rip. (this happened to me). i went on hotpoint website and got some delivered cost me about £20 but they are really simple to fit. fine if you've got a hotpoint, not sure abouut other makes tho.

Oh thanks very much my2cherubs. I hadn't thought of trying to fit one in myself. I'll see if I can order one.

Damn. I must be a hopeless innocent. I can't read anything rude into this washing-machine-related exchange.

Same happened to me and the machine started to tear the clothes.
DON'T go on the hotpoint site- I bought mine off ebay (2 months ago) for £6 (new not used).

No, don't creep off. Tell me what the innuendo is. Is it the old washingmachine/vagina, plasticthingy/vibrator equivalance?
