Morning all

I'm out this morning, but planning on FLYin this afternoon.

I hope all is well with everyone.

Simply I can remember being the child still in Clakes shoes at school. I hated it, but do hav ood feet now, so I tend to think the lonfg term benefits are worth it.
I can remember the time my dad took me school shoe shopping and I convinced him that blue and white polka dotted stilletoes with bows on the front were a good choice.

Oh!...I'll copy my message on here

Morning Ladies

My morning routine is going well....
For some bizarre reason I spent most of last night cleaning the D/W, W/M and T/D. Did all the filters (found 12p in my W/M !) My D/W was not cleaning too well...leaving sandy bits stuck in everything, so I put a lemon in it...topped up its salt, and ran it on empty. It is sparkling this morning
I cleaned the washing powder tray on the W/M...it was soooo clogged up!

Anyway...the kitchen is quite tidy as a result of my evening cleaning, so I'm fairly relaxed this morning!

Oh Luda so sorry. Hope you get better quickly.

My mum has terrible migraines (with sickness and auras), but takes something called Migril (sp.?) which can knock them out if you catch them in time. Although they leave her feeling a bit dopey. You probably know about this drug already, but if not it might be helpful.

Luda hope you feel better soon x

FGS hope your dd2 soon feels better x

TheMadHouse hope you don't get ill! x

Jas hope you're fit and well x

We had a good day yesterday. Dd and I did some great baking for supper (pizzas and chocolate fridge cake) and we also had a 5 mile cycle ride
I'm paying for it today though. I should have paid more attention to the cold that's been brewing for the past few days and taken it easy...I feel awful I'm going to try to rest today. I'll do my regular routine but probably won't do any extras and plan some duvet time (if that's at all possible as a mum!)

Have a good day everyone x

Thankyou all

teenybear I get auras too...thats how I know one is on the way and depending on how severe the first bit is, it usually dictates how bad the headache will be. If I have a big patch in my eye, and sickness, and numbness...then I really have to go to bed because I know it will knock me out. (the aura bit is the worst bit as usually I can't see anything, and I feel sick)
Luckily I only have a mild one today...and I have similar drugs to your mum I think. I take Migraguard (although I usually take one of them, and a couple of Ibroprofens) I actually don't feel that bad now. (thankfully)

FGS Awww I hope DD gets better soon
Bianca hope you aren't feeling to bad too xx
Madhouse hope the toddler group goes ok

Have:
~Cleaned the breadmaker
~Cleaned the kettle
~Cleaned the toaster
~Cleaned out the deep fat fryer...and put clean oil in
~Wiped the fridge down
~Cillit banged the splash back and tiles

I just can't stop myself!

Well...
~Cleaned the friut bowl
~Made the beds
~Cleaned the microwave

have to go and get DS from nursery shortly, then I have my Welsh lesson.
My head is actually ok its just a bit fuzzy, and throbs if I bend down...but other than that I can cope with it.
(A mild one doesn't usually bode well though another is sure to come within the week....ludaloo is frantically touching the nearest big wooden thing, in the hope I'm wrong)

See y'all later

Lol @ ludaloo

I'm doing well. I've done all of my morning routine, half of my afternoon routine and also hoovered & mopped downstairs (which is part of my home blessing).

It's amazing how much you can do when a baby is sleeping and DD1 at pre-school!

TheMadHouse · 01/10/2007 11:51

Well I am back from the mums and toddlers, I think we will go again, it is quite pricey £4.50 for both the boys and you have to take your own fruit , but there is lots of crafty things for DS1 to do.

I also have to oay for the term upfront, which means paying even if you are not attending. I am just doing lunch - chicken dinner (left overs from yesterday) and will get the mini's to bed, then on with the lunchtime routine

There seem to be lots of faces today, and a very full FLY-hospital.
I hope things improve soon.

TheMadHouse - missions repeat They aren't all the same every month, but they all seem to come round again eventually.

I've finished my morning routine. It wasn't all done before I left this morning, which hasn't happened for a long time. I've done the afternoon routine, and am going to spend from now til school run time cleaning up as much as I can so I can spend tomorrow stripping wallpaper in our old bedroom.

Hi Teeny

It was yummy scrummy...needed more salt but a huge sucess. I don't have a set recipe really. I just use what's available.

Last night I had

Parsnip
Potatoes
Carrots
Brocolli
Cauliflower
Red onion
Garlic
Celery
Leek
Red pepper

Cheese sauce

Grated cheese
Breadcrumbs

OK, get your veggies, peel and chop
Put the stuff that take longest in the steamer first (carrots, parsnips, potatoes etc) and steam for 10 mins
Put the more tender stuff in at half time. give them 5 mins to steam

Basically you want them to be cooked but remain 'al dente IYKWIM

Sweat off onions, garlic celery, leeks, peppers in a frying pan to get soft and tender

When steaming has finished put the veggies in a baking dish, add the sweated veg and mix together.

Pour over a cheese sauce. I made mine from a basic bechemel from scratch then added cheese, but you can use a cheese sauce mix. Mix the veg into it.

Grate some cheese into a bowl and mix in the breadcrumbs. Sprinkle on top of the veggy mix

Place in a 180 degree oven for 30 mins or until the sauce bubbles and the top looks golden

Scoff!

I've done it with ham/bacon in the sauce too.

Hope that makes sense
