ATTRACTIVE fly curtains/screens, do they exist??

We really need one for our conservatory French doors but the ones I have seen are not at all nice to look at (ebay, Scotts of Stow and an ethinic one from One Village which doesn't look heavy duty enough).
Anyone seen any which are decent and tasteful looking?
TIA

You can get lovely metal chain ones in a variety of colours - just like a butcher shop doorway - v expensive though. And still not exactly attractive, I mean they're not things of beauty, are they.

"exclusive screens" (snort)

(go to chain screen options)

(There's a trellis design which isn't bad. And get a load of the golfer . And right at the bottom are balloons and hens and stuff. Lovely )

Thanks WW but was thinking of sth softer, perhaps a fabric type affair.

Had forgotten just how annoying persistant bee and flies are when they keep bouncing off the roof and windows!
The search goes on...

Do you want decent and tasteful or glamour and drama!

Do like that one MissB, but poss bit too glamour/drama for our conservatory (which is a playroom by day, dining room by night)...

love that one missb but it is too narrow for french doors. I would have bought it otherwise

THAT'S QUITe nice

will it stop flies though?

How about this sort of thing?

Yes they are pretty, poss more suited to eg girls room.
Think I prefer the other one but yes it was also too narrow for our french doors...

I have just bought one from tarpaulins direct. DH is putting it up this weekend so will let you know. It cost £34

They dont seem to be designed for french doors on the whole, v odd...

Maybe because more people have patio doors, so only need to cover one side?

You can get the chain ones made to measure, of course. Or you could get 2 of the beaded ones? The "glamour" one has 144 strings in a 90cm width - the other one only has 34 strings in a 36" width (which = 90cm I think) so for keeping bugs out I think the glamour would be more effective (and not that glamorous really )

I was pondering those too RR, have seen them in Habitat (though at extortionate price).
Have you seen them anywhere other than Wilkinsons? Might be worth a try for a tenner... Look nicer than the others you can get IMO.

Why not the glamour ones? They're just clear beads - would do the job, look OK, not cut light to inside, and not be intrusive.

WW they are nice the beads, but not quite what I want for our conservatory, wanted sth bit more subtle, DH also has a thing about the "bordello look" and IMO the fringe curtains are less bordello than the beads, if you get one in pale colours...

We have the bamboo curtain. It's fine, looks good and does the job

Thickness alert. What's the difference between French doors and patio doors?
