Thin Towels

Moved to a new house with a fully integrated kitchen - but no dryer and no room for one. I have some old Asda "Saver" towels which I dug out and have been using - they are very thin ( a bit like old style terry nappies) and so dry quickly. However, Asda have stopped stocking them. My thick, fluffy bathsheets will be a nightmare to dry in the winter - so looking for alternatives.

Where can I get thin plain white towels/ Does anyone use Turkish hammam towels (are they really like drying yourself with a tea towel)?

We have some thin ones from Ikea. They are massive bath towels and look reasonably normal but fit into swimming bags easily. Don't know what Ikea call them though sorry.

Linen towels dry really really fast and they absorb loads of water. We love ours. I can wash them in the morning, hang them back in the bathroom over the towel rails, and they're dry by evening.

I second the IKEA suggestion. I can't stand big fluffy towels and have given away lots of new towels because they are just too fluffy and big.

I wish IKEA would do some nice subtle colours - that's my only issue with them. Despite saying that - they are the only towels I will buy now. You can buy them online if it helps. The bathtowel I got wasn't huge (don't like that either!) It was 70 x 140 - an ideal size IMO.

Here you are OP. The Haren ones are the best IMO. The others are a bit thicker. Can't believe what good value they are...£3 !

I've had linen towels as Sentia suggested and I don't find them absorbent, plus they look really untidy unless you iron them - which I wouldnt do.

you could try Huckaback towels. They are OK to dry your hands on but not much more.

We use hammam towels almost exclusively athough we keep a few normal towels for visitors who are a but weirded out by the Turkish ones. Can't recommend them enough. They're super absorbent, dry in no time, get softer the more they're washes, fold tiny so save on space in the airing cupboard and are great for swimming, are huge so properly cover us porkies... I've found loads of other uses for them too. Can't recommend them enough.

Try Hilden. It does seem to be targeted more towards wholesale such as hotels, but I know they'll sell to individual customers as I bought some towels there before.

The towels I went for were Turkish cotton and quite thick so that won't help you, but I had a look on their towels page for you and there are a few that look quite thin. The Oatmeal terry cotton towels, leisure towels, pool towels and the navy bath towel seem quite thin. All quite cheap!

I was given some thin terry linen/cotton towels, which I like a lot. No idea where they came from, so not helpful to you.

IKEA's brightly coloured towels are nice and thin but also stay really soft and don't go crunchy like other towels. I am a massive fan.

I have ordered a Turkish hammam towel to see how I like it. I like the look of the Ikea Haran ones (never thought to get towels there) but it will be a few months before I get to an Ikea (long drive). I have used linen towels before in an Italian hotel and agree they look messy but if ironed loose any absorbancy.
