Caring for a brand new washing machine?!

Hi,
After putting up with an awful Beko washing machine for sometime we've just bought a new Samsung and I really want to make this one last. We live in a hard water area and I am guessing it's best to start preventing limescale build up from day one. I've heard tips about vinegar to prevent this and keep the machine squeaky clean. Any tips please?!

save up for a water softener.

Washing soda crystals are good for helping soap powder to dissolve without leaving sludge or scum, and cuts down the amount of soap and softener you need.

IIRC Which thinks that Calgon is money down the drain.

Just ordered my samsung, it arrives on Friday!

I live in a soft water area so don't have lime scale, but did have sludge and awful smells in a previous machine (Beko) and I blamed non bio liquid detergent. Last machine (AEG) had no sludge with bio powder all the time.

older machine probably had hotter washes and more water, of which both reduce soap sludge.

Samsung normally have ceramic heating elements which are less prone to scale build up apparently, you need to be careful with soda crystals because they cause serious pitting to the aluminium drum spider.
Use powder and use hot washes for things such as towels and sheets, also don't overload the machine
Hth :)
