How to get ALL the crumbs out my toaster??

I have a big 4 slice toaster. Iv obviously taken the little crumb trays out and cleaned them, and took the toaster in the garden and gave it a really good shake. Loads came out but I can still see loads in there! I am fed up with it leaking crumbs on my work top! I am having a massive kitchen clear out/declutter/spring clean and I don't want to put it back in the kitchen till I have found a solution!

Any ideas?

I don't think it's possible. I spent about an hour vacuuming mine and as soon as I put it back down a scattering of crumbs fell out Hmm

Very slim paintbrush Blush and a hoover.

Still doesn't get it all out though.

Shake it over the sink, then hoover it. Once you are completely convinced that you have removed all the crumbs shake it above the newly hoovered carpet to get those last few.

Right iv done all the above now. Still loads in there though! It's annoying me but I haven't got time to spend ages on it as it's just one of about a million jobs I need to do. Sad

Let a tiny mouse loose in the toaster for half an hour. Disclaimer: I have not personally tried this.

I fear there is no solution. I shake bread slices over the sink before toasting in an attempt to reduce the amount of future toasted crumbs, though I should imagine this has no actual effect. How about putting the toaster on a decent looking tray so you can just shake off the tray & at least the crumbs are contained? Get a patterned one even & the crumbs will be less noticeable

Yeah I was thinking of a tray and might resort to that. Will see how the trays I have fit under it! x

I use toastabags for almost everything I put in the toaster, this reduces the amount of crumbs I have to deal with.

My toaster has little trays to catch crumbs. They are not that effective. There are always more crumbs.

JsOtherHalf - do they work for normal toast? Are they reusable?

Yes, they work for normal toast. I get a pack of two from places like Aldi, pound land, etc for around £1. They are reusable for up to 50 times each, according to the packaging. I probably use them more than that.

Put it through the dishwasher.
