spice racks

where can I get a spice rack I can hang on the wall? I have a very small kitchen and a pace for spice jars on the wall but cant find any sort of spice rack anywhere I know Ikea do them but its too far away to drive for just spice racks (and I know I will end up paying a small fortune for things I didnt now I needed!)

any ideas?

1. It's naff
2. They collect dust
3. It's not good for them to be exposed to light

I have lots of the stupid little jars taking up cupboard space I need. What can I do with them?

it wouldnt really work, my cupboards arre deep and full of 'stuff' the spices are lost at the back of the cupboard anyway. I reaally needed them out of the cupboard so i could move the crockery and glasses up from the bottom shelf as ts becoming a constant beacon for the dd's. but cant have things i use regularly in the bottom cupboards as i have a bad back i might just do it anyway!

I have some in a rack that's fitted to the inside of a cupboard door. this would do

And then some that I don't use so often in a small plastic tub ( a bit smaller than shoe box) that's quite lightweight and up on a top shelf. That way I can just pull out the whole tub when I need something. Actually a child's shoe box might be tough enough and would be free!

I got a lovely one on e bay.

I was very pleased to have my herbs and spices ready to hand again,even if it is naff and they attract dust and go stale in the light.

I think they look great personally. Different horses for different courses an' all that.

I don't think it matters that it is naff, however they will last longer in a cupboard or drawer.

I used to keek mine in a double drawer, laid down in their jars so I could see them. Have also used a deeper draw and had labels on top of the jars .
Now I have flat tins so no light gets in a bit like this

Thing is that I also have a very small kitchen too so I know you just need to utilise wall space more than drawer or cupboard space.

I have seen the inside cupboard door ones that better mentions on ebay too,and they look useful.

More expensive but rather lovely are the magnetic stainless steel pots you can put on the side of your fridge.

I went to Poundland and bought 3 plastic boxes - they are transparent with a clip-top lid that swings open, roughly 30x20x20cm. Obviously, they were £1 each They're great as I can see what's inside, I can stack them if I like, very easy to move about and to get to what I need, keeps them all contained and protected. We've had the boxes for about 1-2 years.

We use a lot of herbs and spices though so we don't tend to have jars, more like little bags of stuff as they're cheaper, and I've found that spice racks don't take into account all of the random bits that we want in our collection.
