An exciting one... How do you store toilet rolls?

We've just had new floors in the bathrooms and they look fab!
But a lot less lovely when you put in a half empty multipack of loo rolls.

What do you do?

Use but ignore the aesthetics of the half empty plastic bag
Loo rolls on a spindle-y thing
A basket somewhere
Something else

(this is a totally non urgent problem and yes not really an issue) Blush

I had cupboard and shelf built round my sink and had pull out towel rail at one end and two little cubby holes at the other near the loo to use for one loo roll. spare in cupboard!!! Do I need to get out more?

When we have packs of rolls they go down between the toilet and the wall. It doesn't show too much, especially as there's a toilet seat (for dd2) there.

Atm though, we have a mahoosive bag of loose rolls (my parents buy them in bulk from some factory place and sometimes buy packs and other times bags of loose rolls). we tend to keep a spare one or two next to the loo and the rest in our bedroom (hidden away). I really wish they would stick to the packs though.

A few rolls in cupboards next to the toilets and massive great packs in the airing cupboard although I do have a large walk-in airing cupboard so my advice might not be helpful.

In the bottom drawer of the linen cupboard (not in their plastic). Before that I kept them in a linen bag on a hook.

In the linen cupboard on the landing. One out in the bathroom, sat on the toilet. I don't like toilet roll holders and can't stand clutter.

I have a couple of these.. great for bleach/bloo's/wipes.. also fit few rolls in. They are lovely in a downstairs toilet or bathroom. Keep the rest of the multipack in the airing cupboard

We have a storage unit from Ikea that has a cupboard with three shelves, 1 for hand towels, 1 for bath towels and 1 for the loo rolls - It takes about 14 rolls and the kids can reach for more if they run out mid-flow as it were.
The unit has 3 drawers too. 1 for flannels and spare toothpaste, 1 for spare shower gels and razors etc & 1 for all the cleaning stuff (it has a child lock on it too)

I had an integrated (the dolphin boarding continues underneath from each wall) shelf built over the door. It's got stacked towels, bleach, soap etc, and loo roll in a line. It is brilliant and so useful. I can just stand up and reach the new roll without any kind of pantsdown shuffle. But this only works because:

  1. My toilet is directly next to the door and not on the external wall like normal.

  1. Everyone in our family is very tall.

My most tiny friend was unaware until just recently that this shelf even existed, so far beyond her head it lived.

Oooh! I have cubby envy too! Envy

I quite like that Argos unit mrsp

mazzi which ikea unit do you have? I'd really like a tall unit but don't think there's really anywhere to put one. Confused

The airing cupboard might be a good idea. We have a boilermate thingy In there so there isn't much room. I might be able to stack them up at the front/ down the side maybe.

Wire roll holder, 3 rolls stack on top pf each other and then there's a proper 'arm' for the roll in use. Cheap from wilkos yet one of my best items! I'm sad too I fill it up when we get to the last roll. Remaining are kept in a cupboard elsewhere. But I guess some people wouldn't want all the rolls to be visible? I think this looks alright though Smile

I have a tongue and groove bath panel with a concealed door so they go under the bath -I can get 24 under there!

My mum keeps them in her airing cupboard -warm toilet roll is a luxury lol

I use a tall thin wicker basket with a handle from Cox & Cox, you are supposed to hang it in the tree and collect apples! But it stores a pack from cash & carry!

Kitche roll holder....

Posh habitat one

Stacks two (one in use one spare) & if you get the Tesco cheapo version cheap as chips! Grin

Rest go in a spare cupboard above the wardrobe in bedroom nearest bathroom!

Upstairs - in airing cupboard.

Downstairs in cupboard in utility room.

I am not a fan of loo rolls on display, other than one that is in use.

I had a monster MDF bathroom cabinet built and I embarrassingly measured a 9 pack of toilet rolls to get the height of the bottom shelf right.

Oh yes. We live life right on the edge here.

My sort of place Princess!!

Report

I had it built when I was pregnant with my first. Obviously now that the whole bathroom is covered in toys, wet towels and random lumps of toothpaste, the toilet roll storage is less of a burning issue...
