push-on shower attachment for bath taps

we're renting so cant put a proper one on the bath, so I bought an old fashioned croydex plastic push-on one a few months ago. the problem is that the water coming out of it still smells really plasticy, so you really wouldnt want to shower off or wash your hair with it. I've used it loads of times to clean the bath, so its not just a 'new' smell. anyone found one that doesnt smell so bad? we do have a shower so not strictly necessary, but this is really annoying me!

I bought one from argos that is pretty much like a shower, it has the showerhead on a rail (cant do links i am on my phone) but it is really good and doesnt have a plastic smell either. X

hmm will have a look, the one i have is from Argos though. i know you are right goose but i want it to work now or soon! just cross and impatient as our other shower is rubbish for washing hair too. wish we had our own place and could fix stuff like this ... xxx
