Hi, we live abroad and ds1 is 7 (P3) and goes to a spanish language school. I want to do some home ed in english - as in what he would learn in english class in the uk - and all I want is a simple straightforward curriculum to follow.

I have tried googling but just come across pages and pages of blurbs about homeschooling or millions of links for different themes that i have no idea how to navigate, it is so confusing.

does anyone know where i can find simple lessons to follow/ progress through?

qca documents.

ask on primary ed board for some links to the new curriculum.

There used to be very detailed lesson structures for teachers which would have helped to work throught the curriculum children are supposed to learn. Theya re probably archived in the government archive site. a bugger to navigate without direct links.

Hi. My DCs are in a Spanish language school. I'm also doing home ed in English.

I've tried a number of different curriculums but have decided this year to go it alone just picking and choosing from stuff I find on the internet.

If you want an overview of what Yr 3 children are learning at the moment a couple of useful places to start would be Education City and The Schoolrun

You can sign up for a 2 week free trial at the schoolrun for less than £2 and download a whole load of worksheets / info before the trial runs out. Education City costs around £30 per year but there is a discount on offer for Home Educators.

Another thing you can do is find the website for UK primary schools... some of them actually list quite specifically what children should be learning in each year group so that gives you an idea of what you should be covering. I've found this very useful, particularly the links to other sites.

Feel free to PM me for more info, or just to chat.

You could try the Galore Park curriculum -- there's Junior English <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/Junior-English-Book-Andrew-Hammond/dp/190298482X?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">book 1, <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/Junior-English-Book-Andrew-Hammond/dp/1902984811?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">book 2 and <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/Junior-English-Book-Andrew-Hammond/dp/1902984803?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">book 3 which then lead into So You Really Want To Learn English <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/Really-Want-Learn-English-Book/dp/1902984536?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">book 1 and <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1905735626?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">book 2.

There are answer books available as well if you need them.
