Dylon for curtains

Two parts to this really:

  1. has anyone successfully home dyed curtains? I have a horrible feeling they may come out really patchy and I'll wish I'd never tried.

  2. dylon colours. The curtains are presently a light green colour. I'd like a sort of raspberry colour - anyone have any experience with their colours and what I'd be best going for?

What are the curtains made of?

They aren't cotton - in my research I'm thinking this may be a failed project before starting and that I may be wiser to buy some new curtains!

Yes - if you use Dylon it works best on natural fibres. The lowest machine temp is 40 degrees for it to work and the original colour of the fabric affects the outcome. If you can get away with standard size ready made curtains there's lots of choice.

Thank you.
I shall look at some ready done curtains, wanted to keep it cheap, but trying and it not working and then having to buy some anyway would make that a pointless exercise!

The dylon packs say what they dye. I have done plain dyed curtains, duvet cover and pillows all with great results. Just don't skimp on the quantity of dye!
