Bedroom colour scheme suggestions!

So, painting has bee completed in our 3 bed house and it looks great! I really love the warm golden wall colour we chose for our west facing bedroom as it mentally makes me feel all cuddly inside :) it used to be the coldest room in our house but with the new colour, it feels cosy. Can recommend dulux Dutch gold if anyone is planning to paint!

I'm now thinking of new Curtains as the current ones are green and sheer hence letting in a lot of light. Being a shift worker, I really need a dark bedroom.

It's abit expensive and more importantly, I'm wondering if it will darken the whole room abit too much?

What do you think? Can a black curtain and a black bedspread make the room all depressing?
