Tangerine sofa. Help!

Ok, so five years ago we spent a hideous amount of money on amazingly comfy but bright tangerine orange leather corner sofa. We are redecorating at the moment but I'm at a bit of a loss as to how. We can't afford a new sofa (though I'd love to).

Having looked at a colour wheel, blue-green appears to be a good choice but I don't want an entirely teal room, and would like some wall paper. I'm considering a pale grey, but every sample I bring home OH says 'looks like a prison'.

Help please - actual paint colours (and the brand) and links to wallpaper and curtain suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Harlequin limosa wallpaper would be fab with an orange sofa. Sorry don't know how to link but can be bought from John Lewis.

If you go on the JOhn Lewis website there are hundreds of papers to choose from. It depends what look you want to achieve and how brave you are with wallpaper. I would probably choose a wall paper and then pick a paint colour to tone in with the paper. I think teal sounds a bit too bright - I think grey would look nice (have a look at Dulux Pebble Shore or Laura Ashley Dove Grey).
