Continental bed frame taking two single mattresses

Does anyone know of places where I can buy a continental bed frame in the UK? My Google search so far hasn't found much. We are looking for a wooden frame that would take 2 x 2'6" or 3' mattresses. Good quality rather than budget, so perhaps in the £1k - £2k price range. dH is currently in the spare room as old bed is in desperate need of replacement, so I am keen we are reunited with a lovely new bed!

I really wanted something a bizt more upmarket than IKEA - something like a solid oak or similar frame, possibly something made by a small workshop. I had considered Treske so something similar to that would be more what I'm looking for.

Hi Lilymaid,

Did you find anything suitable? If so, please could you let me know.

I've been looking for the exactly the same thing, but the best the only one I've come up so far is Hulsta. They look fantastic ( www.dorking.hulsta.co.uk/index.php?id=11&L=11&seg=30&cHash=7721a0b070 ) but with prices to match and sadly beyond my budget!

Have you tried Heals or John Lewis - would a super kingsize do the trick?

A normal 6' bed with central support should be able to take 2x 3' mattress's - the 5' don't often have the central support - so you may get a "roll in to the middle" effect ?! Double check the length before you order anything though ! LaRedobt do conjoined 3' fitted bed sheets ?! Which may help keep it all together ?! Failing that, a 6' deep sided fitted sheet should do the same ! :-)
