So lonely

My son has gone to uni in London which is miles away from where we live.I cannot describe the loneliness I am feeling and am crying as I type this...pathetic. I am so trying to put on a brave face as I have spoken to him and whatsapp messaged him etc. So far he is enjoying it...than God. I dunno, it's early days I guess. Just wanted to say to all other mums I know how you feel. Much love.

Betty I know how you feel. My DS1 has also gone to uni and this is my second week. I have cried so many times too and am missing him so much that I can't even go into his bedroom - I only went in for a quick clean yesterday but only because my husband was there fixing something! Everyone says it will get better but for me it's been very very slow. My DS is doing ok so at least I'm happy about that. I hope you feel better soon and remember you're not alone.

Thanks for your replies. I'm trying to keep busy and do have another son aged 14 who is great. My eldest is so lovely. We used to go walking and have coffee as I was off work and he had left sixth form. He plays piano and the house was always filled with music. Most mums feel the same I'm sure and for some of us this is a first time experience. My son seems to be enjoying uni at the moment going off to art galleries and jazz bars!!
Great to get support from mums on this site.

Aww Betty, That's the bit that I find hardest too, that the music has been switched off Sad DD played harp or piano for about 2 hours every evening after dinner! She rocked the living room!!

We just have to be happy that they are happy and enjoying themselves Smile

Would he upload a few videos of him playing for you?
