DS graduates tomorrow 200 miles away. Hotel booked, gown booked etc. He just realised he didn't confirm attendance.
Is too late to confirm online now and Uni office shut.
Any chance he cab get there when office opens and grovel to be put on list and allocated tickets?
Tia

There will probably be a room with the graduation televised at least. Worst case is you get to see him in his gown. I would definately go. The actual ceremony is dead boring anyway Grin

In cases like these, universities do their best to fix the problem. I have known names added to lists at the last moment, so it's certainly possible.

So Esonerp, if he gets there at 7.30am and ceremony starts at 10.30am do u reckon that would give them time? Thank you!

I would think that staff would be in the office by 8.30/9.00 at the latest on graduation day so should be able to respond. Worst case scenario: he could almost certainly attend the receptions afterwards with his friends, so still worth going.

I'm presenting graduands from my Department to receive their degrees this week coming, and had my list to read out as they cross the stage early last week. He might be lucky, but then again ... There's always the party afterwards, I suppose.

BTW, we start with a 9am ceremony - we have to be in the robing room by 8:30 - volunteer staff working as ushers etc will be there at 8am. He needs to contact them early, and an email the day before. Email NOW!

We were adding graduands to the list as they were lining up for procession OP I'm sure the ceremonies staff at your son's place have done this many times too.
Enjoy your day!
