if DH gets one of 2 promotions that are coming up at work. We were discussing it this morning and I jokingly said "well if you can get £400 a month extra - after tax then I wouldn't need to find another job" (I'm not going back to my old one it was hell on earth). And he agreed as he said it "you could do your own thing" (ie start teaching music at home, putting my name down with some of the funeral directors as organist available to play for funerals etc).

One of the jobs if he's offered it he's going to have to negotiate the salary up - it's almost £7k less than he's on target to earn this year (and it's a managers job too!), the other one would be a sure fire "winner" in terms of money.....
