my dd(1 next week) is starting nursery tomorrow for 2 days a week. I know it will be good for us both to have a break and for her to get used to other children etc etc etc
But I am getting very nervous now, especially as they don't do trial days etc at this place. Its a great nursery and I love it. I'm going to give her shorter days for this week(Mon & Fri) and see how she goes as I want to start some supply teaching in the next week or so.

But does anyone have any tips about how to handle it tomorrow. I ad though of going, staying for a while and then leaving for a few hours so that she can play, have lunch, have a nap and a little bit of a play again. We've never had any trouble leaving her with other people so she'll probably be ok.
I am also feeling so mixed up that on one hand I am dreading being away from her but also looking forward to getting some interruption free work( I work 3 days from home) done and some 'me' time.

BLimey this is a bit of a ramble, think it shows my state of mind right now.

I don't know that I have anything concrete to add to that Carameli, just to say that your idea of the few hours sounds ideal. I would make certain you say goodbye and get into the habit of saying something like "mummy will be back after lunch" so that she'll start to understand that you are coming back. I know she's a bit little to follow the concept of "after lunch" but it's good practice! I do know how you feel, but you'll probably feel loads better once tomorrow is over. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

A. don't worry, she'll be fine
B. peep through the window after you've left her and you'll see that she's fine.
C. don't worry, she'll be fine!
