Offered the job BUT

I've done the maths and after I've paid for childcare and petrol there's not much left for me at the end, so I want to negotiate a Friday afternoon off, so I at least get to pick the kids up one day and save £25.00
The problem is that the company found my details on Monster.com through a facility that allows people looking for candidates to access CV's. Now I like the company and the role but the salary details on Monster are about 2 years out of date, I'm actually really looking for at least 20% more, but I would still take this job, but they didn't really want to pay as much as I wanted but I'm selling myself cheap, how exactly could I point this out to them do you think ?

Don't understand this. How do you save £25 by negotiating Friday afternoon off? Are you expecting them to pay the same money for working fewer hours, or do your childcare costs actually exceed your pay for Fri pms?

Basically I wouldn't have to pay the childcare for the Friday pm and yes I'd expect them to pay the same amount because if they don't the job simply isn't worth having.

did you not think about this before taking the job
sorry if that sounds blunt but salary negotiations are always best done at the time
if they have advertised the job at a set amount then that is what they are offering - did they say it was negotiable and that flexi-time was available?

She hasn't taken the job, she's been offered the job. An entirely different thing. All salaries offered are negotiable IME. Ask for more money and/or Friday afternoon off. If you aren't absolutely desperate for the job you have nothing to lose.
