A positive experience to share with SAHMs

Hi All,

I just wanted to share my latest experience, as a SAHM for nearly 5 years who has been looking for a job with not a lot of success! No interest in my cv from recruiters even for jobs which I thought I was well qualified for. I was getting quite down about the whole thing and thought no-one would want to employ me, also just turned 40 so was thinking age was not on my side.

Recently a lovely lady from a recruitment agency got in touch with me after I applied for a part time job in the city paying a really good salary, I was surprised to say the least! She thought I was perfect for the role and I got an interview. Got to the final two, but unfortunately someone else beat me to it. I was gutted, but I'm so glad I went through the process as it has given me a real confidence boost and made me believe that I CAN do it.

So all I wanted to say to you lovely mums is don't give up or believe that you are not worth as much as you were just because you have been out of the job arena for a few years. What I will say is brush up on your IT skills as I had to do a few tests.
