Anyone doing a post-16 PGCE?

Hi,

I am thinking of doing a post-16 PGCE at my local university. I work part time in the NHS and hope to qualify to teach A-levels in Biology/ Human Biology and/or health related access courses.
I have been told the course is held one night a week and you have to do 40 hrs teaching practice the first year and 60 hours the second year.
Has anyone done the course? How was it/how is it if you are still studying?
