DS, DH and I are riddled with coughs and snotty noses, sore throats and ears, aches, pains, fever, listless etc etc etc......

But the skin on my arms and back are so sensitive to the touch. DH has checked and cannot see any rash, but it feels like tiny little prickles all down my back and arms.

I know other people are having dreadful times with illnesses at the moment so I really apologise for being a wuss, but i wondered if anyone else had has anything similar recently?

DS (5yrs) has been ill for 6 days, DH for 1 and me for 4..... not a Happy Household.

It sounds very much like you are having a topical reaction to a virus - may well be a varicella virus (like chickenpox).

Suggest paracetamol and antihistamine (won't cure your cold symptoms but will damp down the feeling in your skin). Other than that - rest and wait ten days and it will go.

Sorry you are having such a crap time. But hey, at least it isn't the bank holiday weekend yet!

Expect to feel really exceptionally tired for at least ten days btw. People think you bounce back from flu type virii - you won't.

thanks, whomovedmychocolate. i childmind for a living and tried to continue working last week and it was HARD. if i feel like this monday still I will have to cancel.

one of my parents suggested i get out in the fresh air and that will make me feel better.

thanks for taking time to reply. i feel a bit silly about this when others are so ill, but with all 3 of us down, it is hard work.

I suffer with that every time I have a high temp or heavy cold. Paracetamol and a hot bath tends to ease it for me.

I also get that with a temp. Have had a very nasty cold recently, don't think it was as bad as flu but I spent a couple of days in bed and it wiped me out for a week.

Lots of people seem to have it atm.
