aching joints

did anyone else have really sore joints in their wrists from picking up a newborn?come to think of it knees are bad all that nappy changing and as for my back ( bad bf positions)

excuse typing - sain newborn in arms being supported by dodgy wrists.

any solutions?

I had pain in my wrists when DS2 was very young, I always felt it was from marathon b/feeds and it went when the feeds spaced out a bit. I found it helped to support my baby with my other hand and stretch the hand/wrist out that had been doing the supporting before going back to my original position IYSWIM.

Be careful with your back and b/feeding positions, I really need to see someone about my back as I have a pain which I am sure has been caused by sitting perched on the edge of the bed b/feeding DS2, nodding off to sleep, just about bent double by the time we were finished. I found it very difficult to feed lying down but wish I had taken a chair into the bedroom to feed in.

Congratulations on dear little newborn ninja. Have you got a changing table? They are at a more convenient height and I had one of those pillows shaped like a V which helped to support the baby a bit. My dd is now 13 months and i carry her around on my left hip and my neck and shoulders are killing me!

Hi Ninja, I have had problems with my knee for the last 6 months. It was getting to the point when I was limping around. I had heard on t.v advice shows about cod liver oil tablets so I decided to take them. The knee gradually got better but I dont know whether this was phychosymatic or not. I havent taken them for about a month but I have no more probs with the knee. I think in my situation it is old age settling in.
