I feel exhausted at the moment and really haven't got time to be, anybody with good advice on recharging your batteries. I haven't got time to stop and would like to feel a little more energised. TIA

think beety is the resident detox guru round here.

you still going to the gym? exercise/fresh air is good to energise you

foodwise - avoid sugar hits like chocolate/cakes etc but go for slow release carbohydrates - wholemeal pasta, rice, veg etc. avoid alcohol as well - dehydrates you/makes you feel down/makes you lethargic. and drink plenty of water in case its being dehydrated thats the prob. avoid caffeinated drinks.

any particular reason to feeling exhausted? i mean are you getting over a flu bug oranything like that? might your iron be a bit low - no harm getting some iron tabs/multivits in case thats the problem.

I don't drink alcohol in the week and am not going out this weekend so that isn't a problem. I really should drink more water, i forget about that constantly, i will start with that, thanks for reminding me. I drink far too much coffee so perhaps it is starting to have an effect on me. I did become inconscious for a while at the weekend so that has set me back a little. Perhaps i need a tonic, any reccomendations?
I always havbe a sneaky feeling i should cut out bread altogether, i feel sleepy after eating it. Will ask beety cheers mts

Come and join us on the 'giving up alcohol for November thread' I just posted on it so you should find it OK. Definately cutting out alcohol has made me feel heaps more energetic but failing that a good tonic is Floradix Elixir by Salus (I think) you can find it in health shops quite easily I believe.

Don't forget that you've been through the mill recently, honey, and it must really have taken it out of you.

Do you get much exercise? I've resumed swimming and believe me that has made a HUGE difference in teh way I feel. AND the fit of my clothes.

I feel a bit like that, as if my brain thinking has made me tired. I do go to thew gym a lot, but haven't been for two weeks, so it must be the sudden stop as i felt great before. Everyone gets to a point where there kids start to knacker them don't they, its just the way it goes.

Sainsburys & Waitrose sell Nature's Path cereals which are mainly wheat and sugar free - this with Rice Milk is pretty yummy. They also do millet and rice pasta (Orgran). www.specialist-herbal.com do some great detox "packages" if you are happy to do some pill popping! Hope you feel a bit more zingy soon!

FF, I was thinking about you this morning and just how much you've been put through recently. Sleep, exercise, no booze and a reasonably healthy diet (personally nobody will get me to eat brown rice, though, nasty stuff nobody in Asia would touch IRCC) should help. But also cut yourself some slack. You've been through so much.
Hugs.

I have just done the diet from the "you are what you eat" book - only fresh food, no caffeine, wheat or dairy. I was tired all the time and was going from one sugar fix to the next. She tells you exactly what to eat and when so there is less chance of straying. The good thing is you can eat as much as you like. Bad news is its timeconsuming (who has time to peel a mango in the morning?), expensive to buy the stuff in and some of the recipes are horrible even to me as a vegetarian. But I did feel much better, had more energy, skin better and lost my disgusting waterbed-like stomach. And my period was less painful, shorter with less pmt.

Are you sure you're getting enough sleep Fairyfly? I'm not convinced the answer's in the food. Exercise - yes, because it helps you sleep better.
