very itchy head - not lice though

I wondered if anyone else has experience of this.
this is going to make you scratch your head ...

Since a couple of weeks ago, my dd is constantly itching her head. we've done the lice treatment shampoo, conditioner and checked for eggs & lice a few times last week but I've found nothing.

childminder thinks it could be the heat and DD does sweat alot during the night. i'm a little dubious about this.

i now seem to have the symptons and wondered if it could be the shampoo we use (Johnson's)???
I can't see any dry skin or dandruff ...

any thoughts/ideas would be great.

My head itches if I don't wash my hair every other day, also certain shampoos do it to me.

My dd2 (18 mths) is also constantly scratching her head, mainly in the mornings and the evenings. She too sweats a lot during the night. Have checked for lice/dry patches but there is nothing at all on her scalp. She doesn't have a lot of hair but is always scratching where her hair is "thickest" - at the back of her head where it's getting longer. Don't really know what could be causing it - I've put it down to the heat/sweating.

My dd is doing exactly this,too!
She also has a sweaty little head and NO (thank God) signs of infestation...)

Glad to know i'm not alone - great thing about MN.

i spoke to the pharmacist yesterday and she said it could be due to dry scalp or heat, so recommended Priton syrup and aqueous cream. i wasn't sure about the priton but i can use given from 1 years old and it'll hopefully relieve the itching. the aqueous cream would help dry scalp (just massage a little into head then rinse. no shampoo needed, although will probably leave dd's lovely hair very greasy).
