Putting on weight due to Beta Blockers anyone...?

I am on 40mg Beta Blockers, between 1 to 3 a day, due to hyperthyroidism. I am currently waiting for the appointment at the hospital and they are meant to keep me going until then. I have looked at the official list of side effects and there is nothing about weight gain, but there seems to be a lot anecdotally.
I don't the hyperthyroidism has made me lost lots of weight as I have lost a stone and a half since May and I presume that it would be faster if it was due to hyperthyroidism. I have hugely reduced my alcohol consumption, and I think that is what has done it (I eat well and also walk over 50 miles a week.) Hence, I will be pretty fucked off if these bloody tablets are going to make me put it back on again!

Are you on any other medication for your thyroid? Because as your levels come down your metabolism will also slow down but some of your symptoms e.g excessive hunger may persist.

Im not on anything for it yet, it was diagnosed on Tuesday and I am waiting for an appointment at the hospital. I doubt my levels were sky high, but I have no idea what they actually are

my symptoms are very mild, I initially went to the GP as I was getting breathless.

40 mg of beta blocker is a lot, I'm on 2.5 mg and that is for a diagnosed heart condition. Beta blockers can cause fatigue but so can hyper thyroidism. when is your hospital apt?

Aren't all beta blockers different and require different amounts??
My oh is on 80mg twice daily and is still loosing weight, weight loss has slowed a bit.

Yes different beta blockers have different strengths so propranolol doses can be 10,40,80mg but other ones like bisoprolol can be 1.25mg,2.5mg etc, you can't compare the two strengths. 10mg propranolol is not equivalent to 10mg bisoprolol.

I was just replying to wannabe's comment about the dose you are on. 40mg of yours is not the same as 2.5mg of another type.
From what I've read weight gain can happen with overactive thyroid. Very new to all of this so only started research recently.
