Recurrent thrush?

I'm 40+ prob only had thrush A handful of times my life, until recently, I'd say, I've had it about 3 times in the last 5 months, I've just got it again now, the last time was about 6 weeks ago!

I take the tablet & apply the cream & appear to be ok. Then several weeks pass & I get it again! Hubby doesn't seem to have any symptoms so don't think he has it?

Anyway, health wise I think I'm ok, but I do feel quite exhausted lately, a bit run down & just a bit fed up. I do feel like I could sleep on the spot! I've put on weight over the last year & finding it very very hard, if not impossible to shift.

I haven't been on any new meds or diets so not really sure what can be causing it, I know GP mentioned diabetes but she also said that would be with with weight loss not weight gain?

He could be reinventing you. He should use the cream too when you treat yourself

I've been suffering for the last year!! It's pretty much starts just before my period, but for a while it was more how you described!

The problem I had was that the gp wouldn't prescribe anything long term without a swab first. However I only ever seem to get an out break when I have no time to book a gp appointment or the whole neighbourhood decide they also need to see a gp and I can't get an appointment. All the swabs I've had have been negative so far grrrrr

DH has only ever caught it once. From what I've read it's very rare for males to pass it on as it doesn't thrive on their external parts but having sex can trigger a bout

Gp has prescribed me a weekly pessary (I was offered the tablet but wanted to try local treatment first) and I've been using this which is meant for bacterial vaginosis but it does seem to be really helping. It can sting if you have a really active bout but I find it reduces my symptoms. It helps to keep vaginal ph and flora balanced. They also do another product fir thrush but I haven't tried it yet.

It's bloody miserable and at times has really got me down, I'm hoping someone comes along soon that's had more luck with treatment!

Waterlemon I've had very similar experience to you. Had it since April and have had clear week and it's come back. You need to go and see GP and have swabs and blood tests. I was just tested for diabetes and iron to check not that. Like water lemon all my swabs always come back clear. So frustrating. Last go did say next time to ask for a specific thrush strain swab. I find cutting down on yeast and sugar products eases things. I use multi gyn gel to help as well from boots.
