Endoscopy tomorrow

Just started taking the gunk you need to drink beforehand. This new stuff is much better than the rancid stuff I used to have to take. Now trying to get smallest DC in bed before the urge takes hold Shock.

I am largely trying to ignore tomorrow as much as possible. I'm more hassled about having to get up at 6am and start drinking this...stuff again Angry

Anyone been for endoscopy recently? Just wondering if anything's changed since I last had one (14 years ago)

I had a gastro endoscopy but couldn't eat or drink for the last 12 hours.
What part of your body is being looked at?

Looking at the bowel for the umpteenth time. Last time they looked at the bowel and the stomach, which I did without sedation as I was still bfing my DD at the time.

I've necked the litre of prep and am drinking lemonade now. I am starving and won't be getting to eat until st least teatime tomorrow Confused

Are you having a colonoscopy? I had 1 last year & am currently avoiding my consultant in case he suggests another! The prep is the worst bit, 2 litres of the vilest tasting stuff they can find & why so much? Surely they can find a way to condense the amount with the same effect. Anyway the actual scope wasn't too bad, although painful going round corners. I was sedated & had gas & air for the worst bits. I'd had bowel surgery not long before & everything was still quite tender so I'm hoping my next one will be better. Good luck with the rest of the prep & hope it all goes ok 🍀

I am Mrs PG, and I've necked my prep for tonight and have now chanced getting in the bath. My bloody period has started today too excellent timing and my legs are v v hairy so I'm going to shave them and try to get some sleep - but I'm hungryyyy!! Have to get up at 6 and drink the second litre of prep whilst getting 3 dcs organised for the day Confused

How did it go?

I am seeing a consultant on Thursday with a likelihood of a colonoscopy to follow.

It was fine - took the sedation for the first time although I can't say I felt it work at all. The sitting about for 2 hours in 2 hospital gowns and a pair of fetching shorts was the worst part.

Lots of photos and biopsies taken, just have to wait for the results now.

Glad it's all over for you . I have not had a colonoscopy and hope I won't ever need one as the prep. sounds horrendous.
All the best for the results.
